Att välja rätt LED-ljusram

Choosing the right LED light frame

WE HELP YOU FIND THE RIGHT JOINT RAMP FOR YOUR CAR

Additional light bars with LEDs have been on the market for a number of years, and as the technology has matured, they have become brighter and more energy efficient. Misconceptions about which numbers matter are not common, and finding the right LED bar for your car can feel a bit tricky. We hope that this LED bar guide can clear up some of your doubts! In the LED bar guide, we go through important terms and give you advice on what to consider when buying an LED bar.

A few more terms to keep an eye on

What optics should my LED ramp have?

A good ramp combines narrow and wide beam light, called a combo light. Curved ramps can provide good side light even with narrow beam lenses.

Lumen – Important or not?

Theoretical lumens show the maximum capacity in the lab, but actual lumens (Effective) show how much light you actually get. Quality plays a big role here.

Watt – Common source of misunderstanding

Higher wattage doesn't always mean brighter light. Efficiency determines how much light you get per watt used.

What is a lux value?

Lux indicates how far the light reaches. 1 lux is required to read a newspaper. Viklight Ymer provides 1 lux at 448 meters.

What is E-marking?

To be road legal, the ramp must be E-marked according to regulation 112. Example: Viklight Ymer.

Component Quality – Why It Matters

Highly efficient components provide better light output. Well-known brands such as Rigid and Lazer often have over 90% efficiency.

More about watts

Specified watts are often the maximum in a lab environment. Real power is often lower. Don't be fooled by high wattage numbers.

Efficiency = Longer lifespan

High-quality ramps require less dimming and last longer thanks to smart heat management and optics.
